It was Spider Woman who preserved the Dine (Navajo) people from the evils that surrounded them when they emerged into the Third-World. For this reason she became one of their most cherished Gods. It was also Spider Women who taught the Dine to weave. Spider Women told the Dine ancestors of the first weaving loom constructed by her husband. He made the cross poles of sky and earth cords; the warp sticks of sun rays, lengthwise to cross the woof; the healds of rock crystal and sheet lightning, to maintain the condition of the fibers. For the batten he choose a sun halo to seal the joints, and a comb of white shell to clean the strands.

LILLY NEZ TSOSIE
$495.00 PLUS S&H

This superb weaving is the work of the great Navajo weaver Lily Nez Tsosie. It is a STORM PATTERN weaving measuring 37X27 inches. Take a look at the pictures and this rug will sell itself. Lilly has used a good combination of 8 natural earth tone colors in this weaving that make it very pleasing to the eye.

Lilly's weavings are always very tightly wove.   In the close up photo you can do your own warp/weft count.  Lilly comes from the Bitter Springs area of the Navajo Nation and has a great reputation as a fine weaver. Lilly is an older sister of Sally Yazzie, well known for her great weavings. She is among the few old-time traditional Navajo weavers left, that still produces a limited number of great weavings. Lilly is one of the most versatile and accomplished weavers in our area. I do not have a photo of Lilly with this weaving, but I have included a photo of Lily holding another of her great weavings. We are proud to offer this weaving from LILLY NEZ TSOSIE.

Navajo weavings make an excellent investment. Experts claim good Navajo weavings increase in value significantly each year. Unlike Navajo reproduction weavings imported from other countries.

This weaving is 100% authentic 100% handmade by a Native American person. This weaving was made in the USA. Bid with confidence, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee. If you have any questions about this item, email me at FEBANKS@4cornersindianart.com.
