It was Spider Woman who preserved the Dine (Navajo) people from the evils that surrounded them when they emerged into the Third-World. For this reason she became one of their most cherished Gods. It was also Spider Women who taught the Dine to weave. Spider Women told the Dine ancestors of the first weaving loom constructed by her husband. He made the cross poles of sky and earth cords; the warp sticks of sun rays, lengthwise to cross the woof; the healds of rock crystal and sheet lightning, to maintain the condition of the fibers. For the batten he choose a sun halo to seal the joints, and a comb of white shell to clean the strands.

LUCILLE BEGAY
$795.00 PLUS S&H

This is a very  beautiful  Chinle weaving by Lucille Begay. Lucille is a life-long weaver from the Cedar Ridge area of the Navajo Nation. Lucille comes from a long line of weavers, she is unique in that she has never married and has dedicated her life to weaving great rugs. We also have several weavings in our collection woven by her 4 sisters, all of whom are excellent weavers. This weaving measures 48x36 inches. Lucille has wove 5 Native American colors into this rug. Lucille has wove her Spirit Line into this rug and it is visible in the close up photo. You should be able to do your own warp/weft count from the close up photo.

I do not have a photo of Lucille with this weaving, but have included a photo of her holding another of her great weavings. The traditonal Navajo woman on the right is Lucille, helping her hold the rug on the left is her sister Ruby, also a great weaver. You can be assured this weaving will increase in value in the years to come.

Navajo weavings are excellent investments. Experts claim good Navajo weavings increase in value significantly each year. Unlike Navajo reproduction weavings imported from other countries.

This weaving is 100% authentic 100% handmade. This weaving was made by a Native American person. This weaving was made in the USA. Buy with confidence, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee. If you have any questions about this item email me at  FEBANKS@4CORNERSINDIANART.COM
